Original Remigton 1858 Conversion 46 Rimfire and back to Percussion

Today I would like to introduce you to an original Remington 1858 conversion in 46 rimfire, 5 shots and converted back to a muzzleloading revolver. If anyone can tell me something about the year of manufacture or the history, let me know. SN: 123023

J'ai vu passé le même Remigton converti  sur lequel on avait remis un barrilet à cheminées et un chien bidouillé, il avait fait 600€ en vente aux enchères mais j'ai pas monté car trop trafiqué le revolver.

So far I have found that it is from December 1864. it was reduced to percussion because the ammunition was very difficult to obtain.

46 rimfire ???? never heard of such a caliber. No surprise that it was retro converted to cap & ball

Here's my latest: The nipples weren't real and were only used to disguise the fact that it was a real weapon. You could put a percussion cap on it and make it pop. The cylinder is now free again and the weapon has been properly registered in the Cal. 46 Rimfire. That's why she only has five shots. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find out what the 97 on the barrel root means.
