Cased Set Colt 1860 Army with Shoulder Stock

Hello from across the Pond!

I have been wanting to assemble a set like this for quite a long time. I have been collecting items one at a time and finally assembled them late last month

It is an Armi San Marco Colt 1860 Army .44 4-screw cut for shoulder stock (date code BC/1993) with an Uberti full-fluted cylinder and an ASM engraved round cylinder, Pietta Colt Type 3 shoulder stock (with fairly nice wood), Colt-type powder flask, Colt-type .44 caliber 2-cavity (ball and conical) bullet mould, Colt -type L-shaped nipple wrench, and a reproduction Eley's cap tin (pill box). The case is an English style fitted compartment type. I have about $450USD invested in it, an amount that is very acceptable compared to what these items usually cost in the US.

I would appreciate any and all comments about it.

The most difficult part was finding a full-fluted cylinder for the ASM revolver. I could not find anyone who had an ASM cylinder, for sale or otherwise, so I had some friends measure all aspects of Pietta and Uberti cylinders to compare with my measurements of my ASM round cylinder. The Pietta cylinder was too long and the bolt stop slots were not in the same place, but the Uberti cylinder was nearly a perfect match. I ordered a new one from Taylor's here in America and worked without any fitting at all. The stock was an extremely fortunate find for me, as was the case. The rest I found on various auction sites.

I was a very fulfilling project for me!

On a different subject, about a month ago I posted on the Dance and Brothers forum about a Pietta Dance .36 I recently found and purchased, but was surprised that no one had a comment about it. The last post here:

Regarding your avatar:

- First, you have to click on "profile" in the upper right part of the screen (on the line just below the two 1860 where the name of the forum is indicated).


- Then, on the new sreen that opens you click on "avatar"


- Then, on the new screen that opens, you click on "parcourir", and you search for the pic on your computer that you want to use. Be careful, there is a size limit (600 x 400 pixels and 64Ko max... quite small pic, use Paint to reduce and resize it)


- Once the pic selected, you click on Enregistrer, and it done.

BTW, I did not react on you Dance in 36..... because I'm too jealous of such a find

I just missed your post of the .36 Dance, it would perfectly match with my .44 Pietta Dance!
