Sourdough, the American friend...

I am the American friend of Ringo that supplied the Dragoon .jpg photos, some of which he has posted to this forum.
I do not speak French but I am very interested in the European view of Colt percussion revolvers as produced in the U.S. and London.
I have looked at your gallery and you folks have a nice collection of originals, as well as some others.
I do not have, at age 64, retired, and late to the game, the resources to collect the originals as you folks have.
I do collect Pietta 1851 Navy replicas and can take those 3 pistols to create a 1851 Navy 2nd Model Squareback TG .36, an 1851 Navy 3rd/4th Model Round TG .38, a Griswold and Gunnison .36, a Schneider and Glassick .36, a Leech and Rigdon .36, and even a fantasy 1851 Navy Dragoon .36 with the round barrel.
I am sure you will post in French insofar as a reply, but I have a translater tool that works fairly well.
This is a new venture for me insofar as a foreign language site. I apologize if I have offended anyone.
Jim

Re: Sourdough, the American friend...
Jim, I have been acting as an interpreter and translater during a couple of years - English, Arabic, German - and I know NO translater tool able to produce any sensible text. But on another hand, they all produce funny results.
Anyway, welcome to you in ROW-City. Many of us are more or less able to read and write English. And we are interested in pictures of your dear weapons. The title of our forum is : "Repliques Old West". It means "Old West Replicas". This is why we are anxious to watch your pictures. I mean pictures of your guns. We perfectly understand that YOU are NOT a replica.

Wellcome on our forum, Sourdough. You'll find here collectors and shooters of both original and replica guns of the old west, all of them fanatics of the subject.
I just have a question for you : why did you choose thie penname of 'Sourdough' ? If I'm not being indiscreet.

Re: Sourdough, the American friend...
Welcome to the ROW, Sourdough. Glad to read you here.
Let me be the first to order a round of whatever suits you at this time of day.
Now you've had a look around, take a seat, make yourself comfortable, and tell us about your own replicas and, why not ? post a few pictures. We always like to see nice pictures.
If you have any question to ask, or any info to give, feel free to fire away !
It is alsomy pleasure to deliver your first kill, as a welcome.

Welcome sourdough. Ringo's friends are our friends ! and we're always glad to have folks from the "new world" join us !!
I also registered in an U.S forum (cas city) where I received a very nice welcome despite my English somewhat "approximative" and which is for me a valuable source of information on Old West weapons and lifestyle.
See you soon at the saloon !

Do not worry, I also sometimes need a little help to make me understand ... in this case, "google translate" is my best friend !sourdough a écrit:

Hi southern neighbour, be welcome at ROW City, nice peaceful (almost) town where the sun always shines.
Next round is on my arm, I'll suggest JP Wiser's special batch (yeap Canadian poison).
A nice welcome kill for you.
If you'd like to immigrate to Canada after 20th of January, Montreal is a very friendly town.
Cheers

Hi and welcome here
Where do you come from in USA ?
This summer, with my wife, we was in the west: Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah...
We feel like we have dreamed
You have a beautiful collection of 1851.
I understand why you are friends with Ringo
